Exploring our relationship with technology.
“An inspiring speaker, host and trainer with an expertise in Fraud, Cyber Security, Online Safety and Digital Wellbeing.”
I don't see technology as the enemy, but our relationship with it could certainly be improved. By exploring the realms of behavior, vulnerability, and emotional projection, I examine the intersection where we and our technology converge. I focus on how our psychology and behavior are influenced and transformed through online interactions.
The risk hasn’t changed, but the way we feel about it has.
Social engineering, fraud, disinformation, extortion, and the many forms of manipulation have always existed. While it’s easy to blame technology and social media for amplifying these issues, the reality is far more nuanced.
My work delves beyond technology as a mere vehicle for these risks, exploring how it affects the emotions and motivations of both the manipulators and those they victimise.
The key distinction is that technology amplifies our vulnerability by magnifying our subjectivity and projected emotions.
